Ken Johnson

 Vice President of Regulatory and Government Affairs

Ken leads an organization that includes government relations, regulatory compliance,  and public policy. He will focus on federal, regional, state, and local policies that enable us to meet our customers' needs and grow our business in a time of rapid technological change and increasing climate concerns.


For more than 30 years, Ken has worked in senior leadership roles in regulatory, legislative and public affairs. He joined PSE in 2006 and today serves as the company's liaison with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (WUTC). During his tenure, the regulatory affairs team has worked with Commissioners and WUTC staff, as well as customer, low-income and environmental advocates to set fair and just rates for electric and natural gas service, enabling PSE to provide customers with safe and reliable service.


The PSE regulatory team continues to partner with our customers, our regulators, and our peers across the company to develop innovative solutions to meet our customers evolving and expanding needs while maintaining the company's strong financial health


Prior to joining Puget Sound Energy, Ken worked for Bank of America as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. His responsibilities included strategic policy and relationship development and coordination of legislative advocacy in eleven western states.


Ken moved to Washington in 1998 after more than 20 years in Alaska. After completing The Iditarod Sled Dog Race in 1983, he tried his hand at commercial salmon fishing near Kachemak Bay, then helped build natural gas utility infrastructure on the North Slope above the Arctic Circle. Ken studied business and economics in college, worked
as senior policy staff for the Alaska State Legislature, refurbished a mansion in to a thriving bed and breakfast, and led government affairs efforts for multiple organizations.


Andy Wappler

SVP and Chief Customer Officer

Andy leads the company's customer care, customer engagement, communications, community engagement, and strategic business intelligence teams. His groups are charged with coordinating outreach with customers, communities and stakeholders; enhancing our data capability; and developing our customer service platform.


Andy is also the chairman and president of the Puget Sound Energy Foundation, dedicated to promoting safety and emergency preparedness within PS's service territory.
