Regional Energy Symposium
October 9, 2025 | Portland, Oregon

The Regional Energy Symposium is being hosted by the Northwest Gas Association (NWGA), Pacific Northwest Utilities Conference Committee (PNUCC), Western Power Pool (WPP), and the Public Generating Pool (PGP). The symposium will bring together state policymakers, utility leaders, regulators, power producers, and clean energy stakeholders to confront the Northwest’s most pressing reliability and planning challenges.
Electricity demand is increasing, and electric utilities are facing mounting pressure to add power resources to maintain a reliable grid. At the same time, natural gas and electricity systems—both critical to regional reliability—are increasingly interdependent. As these changes accelerate, the region must take action to improve coordination between these two critical systems and mitigate growing risks.
Keynote speaker Jim Robb, President & CEO of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), will share insights on how the increasing demand for energy and extreme weather events are reshaping grid reliability expectations, the growing need for coordinated natural gas and electric sector planning, and the pivotal role of state leadership in ensuring the reliability of the holistic energy system.
Join fellow leaders for a full day of timely discussions. A complimentary lunch will be provided, and a dedicated time for networking will offer opportunities to connect with peers and decision makers from across the region
