Mike Gladstone brings 20 years of strategic consulting and
government relations experience to his role as Director, External
Affairs Canada at Enbridge. Mike is responsible for leading the company's government relations, industry affairs, and public policy teams in Canada. A North American leader in delivering energy, Mike provides strategic direction on policy and advocacy initiatives impacting Enbridge including policy, legislative and regulatory initiatives by federal, provincial, municipal, and territorial governments across 8 provinces, and 1 territory.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts, Political Science degree from the University of Calgary with a focus in foreign policy and Middle Eastern politics, Mike worked at the Alberta Legislature and later went on to serve as a key advisor and confidante to a number of notable elected officials in Alberta. While at BFI Canada / Progressive Waste Solutions Mike led many successful projects through approvals and construction and during the 2013 floods in southern Alberta was a member of the Emergency Operations Centre in High River, specifically working on the coordination of waste removal and clean up.
More recently, Mike completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario Ivey Business School.
In his current role at Enbridge, Mike serves on the executive leadership team for the Enbridge Gas, one of North America’s largest gas utilities, Vice Chair of the Energy Council of Canada, Co-Chair of the Canada / US Committee at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, as well as a
member of the Board of Governors for the Business Council of British Columbia, the Alberta Chamber of Resources, and the Northwest Gas Association. He is also a member of the Indian Beach Estates Management Corporation Board of Directors where his family has owned vacation property for 45 years.
Mike lives with his wife Michelle and sons Jameson and Bennett in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta where they enjoy their weekends in the mountains skiing, swimming, and hiking.
Garth Johnson
Enbridge Director, BC Pipeline &
Field Services
Garth Johnson is Director, BC Pipelines & Field Services for Enbridge’s natural gas operations in Western Canada. He is responsible for the commercial aspects of the company’s Pipeline and Gathering & Processing assets. Prior to assuming his current role in January 2018, Johnson served as the organization’s VP, Pipelines.
He joined Westcoast Energy in 1995 and has held various progressive positions in regulatory, business development, marketing and customer operations. Prior to 1995, he worked for several producers and natural gas marketers.
With 32 years of natural gas experience, he has a solid understanding of the commercial, regulatory, and operational issues surrounding the pipeline industry in both the United States and Canada. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a double major in Marketing and Finance from the University of Saskatchewan.
