- Oregon-Based Transit Fuel-Conversion Scenario
October 21, 2020
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
On October 21, join the Oregon Transit Association and the NW Alliance for Clean Transportation and the NW Alliance walks transit agencies and other interested parties through an Oregon-based transit fuel-conversion scenario. The NW Alliance’s online calculator (www.nwalliance.net) allows fleet managers to make inputs that reflect their operating conditions, such as fuel economy, cost of fuel, per mile maintenance cost, cost of a new Diesel transit bus, the residual value of Diesel-powered transit bus, level of grant funding toward various bus technologies, as well as participation in the sale of environmental credits, like RINs and Oregon Clean Fuels Program credits, among other factors. The calculator then crunches the numbers, delivering outputs that help fleet staff understand:
- Number of years required to pay additional vehicle cost and cost of fueling & maintenance infrastructure;
- Lifetime per vehicle savings when transitioning from Diesel to various alternative-fuel technologies; as well as,
- Estimated GHG reductions as compared with Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program baseline.
