DPIR: Performance Measurements for Damage Prevention
Gold Shovel Standard has been working with major operators (Xcel Energy, Sempra, Con Edison, PG&E, Southwest Gas, Consumers, DTE, Dominion, Peoples) to develop and deploy DPIR throughout their operations. Damage Prevention Incident Ratio (DPIR) is a performance measurement scheme used to allow gas operators to benchmark performance despite differences in work volume and density of buried infrastructure. This session explains what DPIR is and how it is being used by excavators and natural gas operators to drive damages down.
