The Northwest Gas Association (NWGA) is a trade organization of the Pacific Northwest natural gas industry. The NWGA's members include six natural gas utilities serving communities throughout Idaho, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia; and three natural gas transmission pipelines that transport natural gas from supply basins into and through the region.

The Northwest Gas Association's mission is to advance the safe, dependable and responsible use of natural gas as integral to the energy and economic future of the PNW. Its efforts foster greater understanding and informed decision-making among industry participants, opinion leaders and governing officials in the Pacific Northwest on issues related to natural gas.

Values Statement
In advocating for natural gas, the following principles guide the board and staff:
  • Safe and Secure - Preserving and enhancing the safety and security of the natural gas delivery system is Priority #1.

  • Dependable and Reliable - Natural gas is available where it is needed, whenever it is needed.

  • Cost Effective - Natural gas remains a cost-effective energy choice; desired outcomes are achieved with appropriate investment.

  • Environmentally Sound - Natural gas is used as efficiently and effectively as possible. The environmental benefits of natural gas relative to other energy sources are understood and fully realized.

  • Integrity and Honesty - The NWGA is relied upon for integrity in its conduct, openness in its communications and accountability in its work.
